Alberta Find a Doctor, launched in 2019 to make it quicker and easier for Albertans to find a family doctor, nurse practitioner or clinic, recorded more than 1.1 million visits in 2023-24. It in on pace for 1.5 million visits this year and has proven to be a popular tool with Albertans who use it primarily to find doctors and nurse practitioners who are taking new patients.

Some users have commented that a shortage of available doctors and nurse practitioners in certain areas has limited the usefulness of the Google Maps-based search function. The Alberta Find a Doctor team is exploring ways to improve the website and the user experience, such as wait lists or a registry and other options. As a user of the website, we'd love to hear more from you about what works well and what doesn't.
